SuperFan Q&A: Josh Edwards

Each month I will be conducting a Q&A with a different Super-fan. It's kind of cool to hear from our fellow Wrestling enthusiasts. We all have stories about how wrestling came into our lives, and this way we get to share those memories, and our outlooks on the business we love.

First out of the gate is Josh Edwards. Josh is a 24 year old fan from Lafayette, Indiana. He also runs
http://wweppvpicker.weebly.com/. On his site you can do predictions of upcoming Pay-Per-View events, and much more. So be sure to check that out, it's fun and it's free, You can't really beat that, now can you?

When did you become a fan?

I have been a fan of wrestling pretty much since I can remember. There were short times when I stopped watching, but I have been watching non stop since 2001.

Who was your favorite star when you started watching?
My favorite wrestler was and still is Shawn Michaels. I also liked Kevin Nash back in the day.

Favorite match?
My favorite match is, and I know this is a little cliche, Shawn Michaels vs. Undertaker at Wrestlemania 25. As a trained wrestler, as well as a rabid fan, that match was just perfect in every way. You really felt as though they left it all out in the ring.

Do you have a favorite moment?
My favorite moment? That's kind of a trick question. Pretty much anything with DX. I loved when they impersonated the McMahons, but all the moments were great.

What do you think of the current WWE product?
As far as the current product goes, I enjoy it. A lot of people think that wrestling is dead, but I believe that it is better than it ever has been. You have a lot of the Indy veterans coming in that have massive amounts of talent, like CM Punk and Daniel Bryan.

What would you change?
If I were to change anything, it would be the idea of "The Man". Vince McMahon has always had "A Man". Hulk Hogan, Steve Austin, and now John Cena. Instead of relying on one individual, why not rely on a roster of talented individuals?

What is your favorite 'Era'?
Believe it or not, we are living in my favorite era. I'm calling it the Indy Era. The wrestling is top notch. The storylines are a bit dumb, but the matches overshadow them.

Your favorite current star, if you have one?
My current favorite is either Dolph Ziggler or CM Punk. Ziggler is amazing at everything. He sells like a champ and makes everything look legitimate. CM Punk is the face of the new Era I dubbed the Indy Era. If you ask me, to the trained eye, CM Punk truly is the best in the world.

Do you have a favorite Developmental or Indy star?
My favorite Indy Star is without a doubt Colt Cabana. He is awesome. I have actually had the chance to meet him (as a fan) and he couldn't be a nicer guy. Not only that, but his talent level is extraordinary.

Where do you see the business heading in the next decade?
I see (WWE) going back to non-PG, especially if they switch to the new network. I see them trying to start the Attitude Era 2.0. Which really might be awesome with the talent they have right now. Actually it has kind of already started. Also, I see more and more Indy guys getting in there. Once Vince sees what kind of money CM Punk vs Daniel Bryan draws (one of the best matches I've seen in a long time), I believe he will milk the Indies dry. Which is why they have already spent so much time in a feud.
.
If you could book a match between two stars living or dead, who would it be, And why?

If I were to make a match between any two superstars, past or present........that is a tough question....CM Punk (in his current state) vs. Shawn Michaels would be phenomenal. Got it! Or WCW Rey Mysterio vs. Sin Cara. That would be a long highlight reel.

  4. By the way, in my comment about what I would change, I am not knocking Stone Cold. I think that is the only time Vince has went with the right person as "The Man".
