The Raw Review 3/26/2012

WWE Monday Night RAW 3/26/2012
 The Philips Arena Atlanta, GA

1. Randy Orton & Sheamus vs Kane & Daniel Bryan

We start tonights Raw with a match for a change (Yay!!)...But we have to listen to Booker T speak (Boo!!).

Am I the only one who feels that this Orton/Kane program is boring as all hell?  On the flip side, I think they have dropped the ball on making the Bryan/Sheamus World Title Match anything special.  That being said, I think its funny that WWE threw these two feuds together for this match. They must know that this is their last chance to get people into those two matches for Sunday.

Watching these guys work, I wouldn't be surprised if WWE went with a Kane/Sheamus program after Wrestlemania. I wouldn't mind watching them battle at Extreme Rules.

Winners by Pinfall: Daniel Bryan & Kane

2. David Otunga vs Santino

Michael Cole reveals that he is the offical commentator, and Vicky Guererro is named the flag bearer for Team Johnny. Booker T brings out Teddy Long and Flag Bearer Hornswoggle. Booker is the offical Commentator for Team Teddy as well.

Blah. Like the Commentary booth wasn't going to be obnoxious enough this Sunday.

Winner by Pinfall: Santino

After the match Long and Santino school boy Big Johnny, which gets him fuming. Johnny gets in Long's face while Santino sets up for a Cobra to Lauriniatis. From out of nowhere, Miz hits the ring and lays Santino out with the Skull Crushing Finale. Big Johnny then adds The Miz to his Wrestlemania team.

Guess they nixed the idea of The Miz getting involved during the Rock/Cena match. I think this is a much better idea. I dont want interference during that match and he rounds out Team Johnny well.

3. They then showed a video highlighting the End of an Era/HIAC Match. The video did a good job of showing their seperate career paths. On one side The Undertaker building the streak year after year. They then show Triple H winning all those World Titles, and becoming 'The Man'. The video then turns to where they are similar, The Hell in a Cell, before ending with the variable that is Shawn Michaels.

This was another really cool video from WWE's steller production crew.

4. Eve vs Kelly Kelly

A Divas match was given some time for a change, for better or for worse. And truthfully this was way better than I thought that it would be.

Eve misses a Moonsault and gets rolled up.

Winner by Pinfall: Kelly Kelly

5. Non-title: CM Punk vs Christian

Before the match Chris Jericho arrives via the Titan Tron. He says that he will expose Punk as a fraud and that his parents were not married when he was born, making him the definition of a bastard.

Christian attacks Punk from behind and tosses him to the outside. Punk recovers and goes ape shit on Captain Carisma! He slams his head into the announce table several times and hits a high kick to his face.

Punk then hits the GTS using the steel steps, before locking on the Anaconda Vice and refusing to break the hold. He screams "This is you Jericho!" while doing this. The refs momentarily get him to release the hold, but Punk comes back and sinks it back in.

I hate to see Christian take a beating like this, but this is the explosion of emotion that they needed Punk to show going into this very personal match at Wrestlemania. I have to say that Punk/Jericho has me more excited than Rock/Cena. I think they will steal the show for sure on Sunday.

6. Brodus 'Funkasaurus' Clay vs Curt Hawkins

Lawler kept refering to Curt Hawkins as Curtis. Did they change his name up or is The King stupid?

Anyway, Hawkins gets in the most offense yet for a Brodus Clay match.

But we all knew how this one would end..

Winner by Pinfall: Brodus Clay

7. The Big Show vs Primo

Quick match, with only the Breaking News of Christian being pulled from Wrestlemania due to the beating at the hands of CM Punk, being a highlight.

Winner by Pinfall: The Big Show

After the match, Cody Rhodes comes out to continue his mockery of The Big Show. I didn't pay too much attention, as I was in the middle of taking a HUGE Big Show!!

8. A dumb backstage segment involving the Bellas, Zack Ryder, and Eve transitions into an awesome backstage segment with CM Punk.

Josh Mathews wants to know how Punk feels. He says go ask Christain how he feels. He says that his family is off limits. He is not a bastard, he is the best wrestler in the world.

9. The Great Khali vs Mark Henry

OMG it's the endtimes!! Run, save yourselves!!

Oh, it was over quick. Thank the Gods!!

Winner by Pinfall: Mark Henry

Post match, Big Johnny throws Teddy Long into the ring to be destroyed by Mark Henry. Out comes Team Johnny, followed by Team Teddy to cause a ringside brawl. Kofi Kingston gets through the mess to stop Henry, but eats a Worlds Strongest Slam instead. Henry gets up and turns right into The Booker T Express!!

After Booker takes out Henry, Teddy Long "Axes" him to join Team Teddy, which he agrees to. At least now we dont have to listen to him talk during that match.

10. The Final Rock/Cena Confrontation before Wrestlemania.

All I'm going to say is that this had really good emotion. I'm sure everyone reading has picked their side, and that is what this feud is all about. Division. Be it Attitude Era vs PG Era, or whatever. This is where I turn it to you. Rock or Cena? Leave your comments and let me know who you will be rooting for in this match on Sunday.

  1. Gotta say that I pretty much lost interest in WWE a long time ago, especially when it went PG, but with the way they're hyping the Rock/Cena, Punk/Jericho, and Taker/HHH match I'd easily drop the coin to watch this on PPV. Seems they're really bringing a lot of much needed emotion to the table this years Wrestlemania.
