Jeremy's TNA IMPACT Recap

This is my first attempt at watching TNA in several months. I kinda know what the storylines are from reading the spoilers, but on a whole Im playing catch up. This should be interesting...

TNA iMPACT Recap:

1. We start with the typical TNA backstage brawl between Jeff Hardy and Bully Ray. Bobby Roode pulls up in a truck to help destroy Hardy. James Storm to the rescue, but he too is soon taking a beating. Enter Sting with his trusty bat to chase off the Heels.

2. Number 1 contender for the Knockouts title: Velvet Sky vs. Tara vs. Mickie James.

Its kinda refreshing to see real womens wrestling again. The Divas had made me believe that it wasnt possible to enjoy chicks fighting anymore. Tara wins and gets a shot against Gail Kim.

3. Sting, Hardy, and Storm call Roode and Bully Ray to the ring. They brawl again as Sting tries to maintain order. A tag team tables match is made for later tonight.

Why did this segment even need to happen? Why didnt Sting just make the match? Whatever.

4. Dumb backstage segment with Eric Young, Angelina, and Winter. Moving on.

5. Number 1 contender for the X Division Title: Alex Shelley vs. Zema Ion.

Ive been a huge fan of Alex Shelley ever since his 'Baby Bear' days early in TNA's exsistance. As for Zema Ion, this is the first time Ive seen him in action, but Ive heard good things.

This was a fast paced match as one would expect. Shelley wins and gets a shot against Austin Aries at the PPV.

6. Eric Bischoff crashes Garrett Bischoff's training session, only to freakout once he sees who is training him off camera. I bet a shiny new quarter that its Hulk Hogan.

7. Angelina Love & Winter vs. Eric Young & ODB.

Ive always loved ODB's character. This one was pretty much what you would expect. Lots of comedy from Young and good work from the Knockouts. ODB & Young get the win.

8. Samoa Joe vs. Matt Morgan.

First off I have to say that with all of the problems I have with TNA's product, their continued misuse of Samoa Joe ranks toward the top of the list. The guy has had some of the best matches in the history of the company, against guys like AJ Styles, Christopher Daniels, and Kurt Angle to name just a few. Its just sad that they dont see what they have and WWE has no interest.

And just to add to my point, Morgan wins with a clothesline. Lame.

9. AJ Styles calls out Daniels and Kazarian. Daniels takes the mic from his 'puppet' Kazarian and rips into Styles. In turn, AJ turns his back and Kaz refuses to attack him when ordered by Daniels. The Fallen Angel decides to do it himself and gets taken out by AJ. Daniels challenges Styles to face Kazarian at Against All Odds.

Im not sure about this storyline, but I love all of these guys and am thrilled to see them again.

10. Tables Match: Jeff Hardy & James Storm vs. Bobby Roode & Bully Ray.

Where did all of this crappy theme music come from? Bland, generic BS it is.

I kinda like that since Beer Money split up, TNA has done an old school build with the two. Keeping them apart and having Storm work towards getting his hands on Roode. That being said, I dont think they're doing enough to keep the fans interested in the eventual rematch.

This one was really just a continuation of the brawl that opened the show. Storm drives an elbow into Roode through a table to get the win for his team. Post match beatdown to the faces by Bully Ray with a chair. Ray and Roode drive Hardy through a table to end the show.
